The City of Swan encourages home based businesses because they make such an important contribution to the City's social and economic wellbeing. Whether you're in a residential or rural area, we can help you establish your home based business with a minimum of red tape.
Do you need planning approval?
All "home businesses" require Planning/Development Approval but a "home occupation" may not. To determine the difference, download the Fast Track Planning Application Home Based Business Checklist and Questionnaire. You will need to submit both documents to our Planning Department for approval.
Home based food business
Approval for a home based food business is a two part process; you will need both planning and health approval.
