Councillor David Lucas

David has lived in Beechboro since 1985 and believes local government plays an important role in our daily lives.

Local government is responsible for many facilities and services that we use on a daily basis. Though I have seen many improvements over the past 20 years, more is required to meet the demands of our growing population and to improve our quality of life. My vision for the Altone Ward includes a $200 million Regional Active Open Space for everyone to enjoy, an aged care facility for our aging population and more user-friendly services for the disabled. Improvements to our local roads, footpaths, street-scaping and bulk rubbish removal are also a high priority for me, as well as working with other government agencies to reduce and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.

Having no affiliations to any political parties or lobby groups, I offer balanced, impartial decision making on the local issues that affect you.

Deputy Mayor Mick Wainwright

A resident since 1995, Mick originally ran for Council because he believed he could give something back to his community.

“I would like to see the City of Swan as a place families want to live in; where the community works together. I would like to see Midland become a vibrant and interesting place as part of its role as the eastern gateway to Perth. I want City structures in place that will look after all of our residents.

My goal this year is to advance the progress of aged care facilities within the Altone area and greater City of Swan.”
