Mayor Charlie Zannino

Charlie has been serving the community since 1987. He was a Councillor from 1987 to 1993, and from 1999 to present. He has served as Mayor twice, from 2001 to 2003 and 2008 to present. “As a Swan Valley grape grower, small business owner and local Councillor, I care greatly about representing the views of rural communities and families in the Swan Valley and Gidgegannup. Long-term planning is critical to maintain our distinctive rural heritage and identity. We need the right balance of quality rural, tourism and lifestyle choices to ensure a vital and viable future.

As Mayor of the City of Swan, my goal is to work effectively with residents, businesses and all levels of government to ensure our City has a bright future, as a thriving and prosperous regional centre. I wish to build on our vision, to maximise opportunities through our City’s diversity, unique characteristics and strategic location within metropolitan Perth.”

Councillor Darryl Trease

Darryl believes being part of the largest metropolitan local government by area is both challenging and exciting.

“The City of Swan is experiencing unprecedented urban growth and I want to ensure the rural element, and in particular that my ward, is well represented.

I believe the Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Ward is the jewel in the crown of the City, and given its diverse nature, it has unlimited potential to grow into a premier tourist destination for local, interstate and international visitors. I see my role as protecting what makes these areas special, while ensuring development continues to enable better facilities and services to be provided to residents. I look forward to continuing my work with the community and thank you for your ongoing support.”
