A new suburb for the City, Bennett Springs encompasses the residential estates of Orchid Park and Bennett Springs, which were originally part of the Beechboro locality, and also includes an area of West Swan, west of Lord Street, and a small portion of Whiteman.
The name Bennett Springs pays homage to one of the State’s first women, Matilda Bennett, who arrived in WA in 1929 with her husband John Septimus Roe.
Matilda Bay and Bennett Brook were also named after her.

Altone Park Leisure Centre currently hosts mixed junior basketball. Our junior basketball competition caters for girls and boys aged 9 to 18 years. All umpires, and equipment for games, is supplied by the centre. If you are interested in playing a new sport we welcome nominations. We recommend you arrive 5 minutes prior to the class start time. Some classes have limited places, so while we recommend you arrive early, tickets will not be issued more than 15 minutes before the scheduled class start time.
Clothing should not restrict movement, and enclosed shoes must be worn.
Please bring a small sweat towel and water bottle to all sessions. You may also wish to bring a larger towel to lay over the mat for classes involving floor work.
If you are new to either class, a fitness assessment and compulsory walk-through must be completed prior to taking part. Please contact us to book an assessment.

Come join in and have lots of fun at Altone Park Leisure Centre School Holiday Program. Our licensed and fully supervised program offers activities for children aged 5-12 years including various in-centre activities and exciting excursions throughout Perth.
Our Swim School aims to cater for the aquatic safety and skill development of everybody from six-month-old babies to adults.
Our Swim School is a Royal Life Saving Society and Austswim endorsed Swim School. This means that you can feel totally confident that your child will receive the best in aquatic education, using contemporary teaching techniques to deliver a quality program.
Swimming lessons are conducted seven days a week during school terms with morning and afternoon classes available, lessons are also conducted during school holidays Monday to Friday.
