About Swan
Welcome to the City of Swan - a beautifully, diverse area of land, collectively known as the Swan District.
Stretching over 1,043 square kilometres, the City is a unique blend of residential, commercial, industrial and rural land. It's not surprising that our size makes us the largest local government in the Perth metropolitan area. However, that's not our only special quality.
With an esitmated 116,560 residents (and rising) in 2012, the City is a thriving hub of economic growth, consisting of some of the fastest growing suburbs in Western Australia, two regional centres, several national parks and reserves, major commercial and industrial areas and historically important townsites and rural areas.
Our major tourist attractions, including the magnificent Swan Valley and significant Aboriginal and European heritage sites, have elevated the City to "must-see destination" status. We always welcome the tens of thousands of local, national and international tourists who visit us every year.
We hope you'll drop by and find out why so many people come to visit and stay.
