The Emergency Services Levy (ESL) pays for services provided by the Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES). This money collectively pays for the development and maintenance of Fire Stations, Volunteer Fire Brigades, State Emergency Service units and the Volunteer Emergency Services unit.
