Emergency Management

Planning ahead can prevent and minimise loss to human life, wildlife, the environment and property. The City of Swan has strategic bodies and plans in place to assist in safeguarding our community and your welfare.

Swan Local Emergency Management Committee

In accordance with the Emergency Management Act 2005, the City of Swan has established its Local Emergency Management Committee to assist in planning for emergencies. This planning includes the development and review of the Local Emergency Management Arrangements. 

The committee meets quarterly and is comprised of City staff and representatives from government agencies and other organisations that have an emergency management responsibility. It is chaired by a City of Swan Councillor.

City of Swan Local Emergency Management Arrangements

The City of Swan has developed Local Emergency Management Arrangements to assist in the prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from emergencies that may occur in its local government area.

These arrangements describe the:

  • emergencies that may potentially occur
  • roles and responsibilities within the community
  • coordination of operations and activities
  • recovery arrangements in place
