The Building Act 2011 and Building Regulations 2012 commenced on April 2 and introduced a new building approval process for Western Australia. It replaced the Building Regulations 1989 and much of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1960.
This changes the way that building permits (previously known as building licenses) are applied for and processed.
For further assistance of the terminology used in the Building Act 2011 and Building Regulations 2012 please check our Glossary of Terms.
