What is a Local Planning Strategy?

A Local Planning Strategy sets out the general aims, intentions and desired outcomes for long term growth and change for different areas. It takes into account social, economic and environmental factors and, importantly, infrastructure needs for future growth. 

Local Planning Strategies also give direction as to the circumstances in which particular land uses and development should be planned.
