Waste Recycling Services
The City of Swan is committed to protecting the environment and keeping our City clean for everyone who lives, works and visits here. That’s why we work closely with the East Metropolitan Regional Council to provide regular waste management facilities. Provision of Bins
All rateable residential properties within the City of Swan are provided with a 240 litre refuse bin (green lid) and a 240 litre recycling bin (yellow lid). From July 1, 2012, the 240 litre recycling bin will be gradually replaced by the new 360 litre bin. This will intially be available to all new rateable residential properties who pay a waste levy followed by a scheduled roll out to all other rateable properties who also pay the waste levy within the City. Residents wishing to take advantage of the larger recycling bin immediately can pay a one off change over fee of $50.00 however there is no cost for changeover if it is done as per scheduled replacement.
Once you’ve moved into your property, simply call Customer Services on 08 9267 9267 and we’ll deliver the appropriate bins to you. You should receive them within five working days.
The cost for a refuse bin is $310.00 plus a one-off establishment fee of $60.00. A recycling bin has no service cost but a once off $60.00 charge.

All residents in rateable properties can apply for extra refuse or recycling bins by calling Customer Services on 9267 9267.
