Bulk Verge Collections

The City of Swan offers bulk verge collections for both green waste and white goods/junk waste:

Items we collect from your verge
What is green waste?	What is white goods/junk waste?
Green waste includes all of the following: Organic garden waste Grass clippings (in cardboard box) Leaves (in cardboard box) Tree branches Twigs Weeds Flowers	White goods/junk waste includes all of the following: Furniture Bicycles Toys Small electrical goods Carpet and linoleum Fencing materials (not asbestos) Wood (not garden waste) Wire Gates Poultry webbing Refrigerators Stoves Freezers Clothes dryers Air conditioners

Bulk collections for green waste are held twice a year and bulk white goods collections occur once a year. Please note that the amount of waste you place on your verge for both types of bulk collections can only be three cubic metres in size.

We no longer send out notification flyers to your address two weekends before pick-ups*. However if you wish to find out when we're next in your area please contact the City of Swan on 9267 9267.

*The City of Swan Waste Services has developed a search function on the website to advise residents of their next collections of both Greenwaste and Junkwaste.

Non collectable items

There are certain waste items we won't collect as part of our residential bulk verge collections. These include:

Green waste does not include the following: Plastic bags (and please don't place organic waste in these) Chemically treated or painted/stained timber Large tree stumps (they must be cut into smaller pieces) Rocks, bricks and rubble Dirt, soil and sand Plastics including flower pots and hoses Household refuse and other items Building and fencing materials Vehicles, car bodies and car parts Asbestos products Paint or flammable liquids	White goods/junk waste does not include the following: Household food wastes Garden waste (including lawn clippings and tree prunings) Paint Vehicles, car bodies and car parts Tyres Batteries Hazardous Asbestos products Flammable liquids Building materials Bricks, rubble and concrete Glass (eg table tops, window panes)
