In accordance with section 5.5 of the Local Government Act 1995, notice is given that a Special Meeting of Council is scheduled to be held in the Council Chambers, Midland Town Hall, 312 Great Eastern Highway, Midland, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 commencing at 5pm.

Proceedings below:

  1. Welcome to Country – a Welcome to Country ceremony will be conducted by Ms Brenda Larson
  2. Declaration of Office – the newly elected Council Members will be sworn in by Mr Martin Chape JP by making a declaration of office in accordance with section 2.29 of the Local Government Act 1995 and as prescribed in Form 7 of the Local Government (Constitution) Regulations 1998
  3. Special Meeting of Council – this Special Meeting of Council has been convened for the purpose of:
  • Electing the Deputy Mayor, and
  • Assigning seating in the Council Chambers.

The meeting will commence at 6.00pm.

An extension of a temporary road closure has been requested and approved under delegated authority.

The previous closure dates were from July 28, 2025, to November 11, 2025; a duration of three months and 14 days.

The new closure dates are from September 30, 2025, to January 28, 2026; a duration of three months and 29 days.

A delay in the final design and program agreement between Water Corporation and the developer is the reason for the closure extension.

A one-week extension of a temporary road closure has been requested and approved under delegated authority. This is due to inclement weather preventing completion of primary road closure of Andrea Drive, Henley Brook.

The new closure dates are September 1, 2025 – November 4, 2025. 

The existing closure was previously August 25, 2025 – October 28, 2025.

James Avenue, Hazelmere is to be temporarily closed on September 15, 2025, with completion expected by June 4, 2026.

This matter was considered and under delegated authority on September 2, 2025 for a period of EIGHT (8) MONTHS AND TWENTY-ONE (21) DAYS.

The extension to the temporary road closure was requested and approved under delegated authority on 26 August 2025.

The previous extension approval was set to conclude on 27 August 2025, in lieu of 16 August 2025, and will now conclude on 29 August 2025.

The additional 2 day extension is due to inclement weather which has caused a delay to the completion of the road construction.

Henley Street, Henley Brook, is to be temporarily closed on August 25, 2025, with completion expected by October 28, 2025.

This matter was considered and under delegated authority on August 19, 2025, for a period of two months and three days.

Andrea Drive, Henley Brook is to be temporarily closed on May 14, 2025, with completion expected by August 16, 2025.

This matter was considered and under delegated authority on April 30, 2025 for a period of three months and two days.

Extension to temporary closure to portion of Andrea Drive, Henley Brook.

The extension to the existing temporary closure to portion of Andrea Drive, Henley Brook was requested and approved under delegated authority. 

The existing closure was set to conclude on 16 August 2025 and will now conclude on 27 August 2025.

Portions of both Helena Street and Railway Parade in Midland are to be temporarily closed from September 1, 2025, with completion expected by November 24, 2025.

On July 7, 2025, this matter was considered and under delegated authority for a period of 12 weeks.
