Altone Ward Extraordinary Election 2019

The City of Swan will be holding an extraordinary election on Thursday, April 11 for one Councillor vacancy in the Altone Ward.

This election will be administered by the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) by postal vote.

All voters are encouraged to review the list of candidates and their profiles prior to making their decision.

The successful candidate will be in place in the Altone Ward until October 16, 2021.

Every person enrolled on the electoral role in Altone Ward will be issued an election package by priority mail three weeks prior to the election and are invited to complete their votes by 6pm on Election Day.

The election package will consist of a list of candidates, ballot papers, instructions on how to vote and a declaration.

The Altone Ward covers the suburbs of Beechboro, Bennett Springs, part of Caversham, Dayton, Kiara and Lockridge.

You may submit your ballot by post, or in person.

While there is priority mail on returning your ballot, remember that it will take time for your post to be returned, so make sure to post your ballot before Election Day to ensure it arrives on time.

For those that do not wish to post, or those that think their package won’t arrive in time, you may submit your ballot to the Swan Active Beechboro ballot box located at 332 Benara Road, Beechboro.

It will be available from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm on Election Day.

Voting packages must reach the Returning Officer by 6pm on Election Day, Thursday April 11.

You can also view your enrolment status on the Australian Electoral Commission website.

The election will be held at Swan Active Beechboro.

The count will commence shortly after 6pm, and the results will be available later that evening.
