Council Elections and Meetings
Local government elections will be held on October 21, 2017. Find out more about the process, view the 2017 candidates and how to vote.
Ordinary Council meetings and Agenda Forums are held at 5.30pm in the Council Chambers.
These meetings provide you with an opportunity to find out what’s going on in the City and what’s in the pipeline. You are welcome to attend any of our public Council meetings.
Changes to meeting cycles: From January 2017, the format of Council meetings at the City has changed from a three to four weekly cycle, with agenda forums(PDF, 108KB) held the week prior to Council meetings. Council have adopted a guideline for agenda forums(PDF, 99KB) .
The following information sheets will help you understand the processes that take place during the meetings and what you need to do if you wish to have your say.
- Deputations(PDF, 109KB) - A deputation is your opportunity to make a statement to Council on any item on a Council meeting agenda. Deputations will be received at agenda forums.

- Public question time at Council meetings(PDF, 69KB) - Public question time at Council meetings is your opportunity to ask questions relating to any matter on the Council meeting agenda or any other matter relating the the City..
- Public statement time(PDF, 62KB) - Public statement time is your opportunity to make a statement to Council about any general matter affecting the City. Public statement time is conducted at Council meetings.
Agendas and Minutes online
Agendas - Agendas are available by 4pm on the Friday before the scheduled Agenda Forum for the Council meeting or you can view a printed copy on the Tuesday before the meeting at either the administration centre or your local library.
Minutes - Minutes are available by 4pm on the Friday following the Council meeting.
