Bennett Springs Sports Precinct
Cost: $350 million
Planning is underway to build world-class facilities in the City, capable of hosting international events.
The City is currently working with the Western Australian Planning Commission to develop a Masterplan for the development of future regional open space (ROS) on Marshall Road, Bennett Springs.
Located on over 200ha of land, the facility would be the sports capital of Perth’s entire Northeast region, catering to all indoor and outdoor sports, adventure sports, aquatics and health needs.
The facility is already being considered as a preferred location for the Commonwealth Games.
- BY 2036, THE CITY OF SWAN’S POPULATION IS SET TO MORE THAN DOUBLE.
- HALF A MILLION PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO POPULATE THE REGION NEAR THE PROPOSED ROS BY 2031.
- THE CITY WILL BE UNABLE TO CATER FOR THE FUTURE RECREATIONAL NEEDS OF ITS POPULATION IF THE ROS IS NOT BUILT.
