The Urban Housing Strategy was adopted by Council on June 13, 2012 and subsequently lodged with the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) for approval.
The strategy sets the criteria for enabling development at a higher residential density code and provides the location of sites deemed suitable for increased residential development. About 15,500 lots were considered suitable to develop additional housing under the Dual Residential Code. No landowner was to have their existing development potential reduced.
The Urban Housing Strategy , as lodged with the WAPC, together with Appendix 1 which discusses the policy context, remain available for viewing.
