International Anti-Corruption Day
International Anti-Corruption Day is celebrated annually on December 9 around the world under the joint leadership of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN’s Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
This year, you can learn more about the impact of fraud and deception on society at several displays being run across the City.
From November 27 to December 11, an awareness display featuring information and books with a fraud and corruption theme will be at the City's Administration Centre in Midland. Displays will also be held at City libraries from November 27 to December 1.
Members of the community are invited to visit the displays to learn more, and to become supporters of the anti-corruption movement.
Corruption undermines democracy and the rule of law, leads to human rights violations, distorts markets, erodes quality of life and allows organised crime, terrorism and other threats to human security to flourish.
