City of Swan has partnered with the Perth Scorchers to bring a series of explosive Women’s Big Bash League matches to the Swan Valley.

Lilac Hill Park in Caversham will host four thrilling matches in the second Women’s Big Bash League series this January.

Melbourne Stars VS Adelaide Strikers Friday, January 13, 2pm - Lilac Hill, Caversham
Perth Scorchers VS Melbourne Stars Sunday, January 15, 10am - Lilac Hill, Caversham
Perth Scorchers VS Sydney Thunder Friday, January 20, 2pm - Lilac Hill, Caversham
Sydney Thunder VS Perth Scorchers Saturday, January 21, 2pm - Lilac Hill, Caversham

The move follows the enormous success of the WBBL's inaugural 2015-16 season when attendance and viewing records were smashed out of the park.

WBBL matches attracted an average crowd of about 7000 last season while one game between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder attracted 14,611 people – the highest ever for a women’s domestic cricket match.

The first match at Lilac Hill on January 13 will have the Melbourne Stars, led by last season’s leading run-scorer Meg Lanning, taking on the Adelaide Strikers.

Perth Scorchers will then face the Stars and last year’s champions, the Sydney Thunder in the final two games.

Two local Midland-Guildford Cricket Club players - Elyse Villani and Chloe Piparo - are also part of the Perth Scorchers’ WBBL line-up.

All of the fixtures at Lilac Hill Park will be streamed live on Cricket Australia’s website to a national audience.
