Changes to your verge collections coming soon

The City of Swan is changing the way we collect residents' unwanted bulk and green waste.

From July 1, a new year-round verge collection service will replace our current service, where residents will be able to access two on-call verge collections each financial year.

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said the new service improves the way we collect waste.

“It creates a flexible service for our residents to dispose of their unwanted bulk and green waste materials throughout the year,” he said.

“The new process is simple - just visit our website or call us to book your collection. Based on your address, you will be provided with a list of collection dates to choose from. Your waste will then be picked up promptly, at your convenience.

"Residents on rural properties will continue to be provided with tip passes in place of verge collections."

Pearce Ward Councillor Cate McCullough said in addition to on-call services, residents can dispose of their recyclable items all year round in other ways.

"The City's Recycling Centre in Bullsbrook is open from Thursday to Sunday every week and is free to all residents," she said.

"In addition, Recyclable Goods Drop off Days take place nine times throughout each financial year."
