Ellenbrook Community Hero of the Month: November

Published on 08 November 2017

Emma.jpg Ellenbrook's Community Hero of the Month is a monthly celebration of a local community member who has made a significant contribution to the Ellenbrook Place community – Ellenbrook, Aveley, Henley Brook and The Vines.

This initiative was inspired by local community members who wanted to see more ‘good news stories’ about Ellenbrook and the surrounding areas, and celebrate all the great work being achieved by individual members of the community.

This month we're celebrating Emma, who is a passionate supporter of the parents and carers who care for children with disabilities in our community. As a founding member of Ellenbrook’s Parents of Children with Challenges, you can find Emma at Ellenbrook Library fortnightly on Friday mornings having a cuppa with other local parents and carers, sharing their experiences in a safe, supportive environment. Thank you, Emma, for being a great asset to our community!

Now's your chance to nominate a local hero for December! Submit an online nomination, email CDEllenbrook@swan.wa.gov.au, or visit the Ellenbrook Place Office for a nomination form.

Hero of the Month Guidelines are as follows:

  • Nominations can be made by the nominee, themselves, or another community member (with the consent of the nominee).
  • Nominees must reside in the Ellenbrook Place area – Ellenbrook, Aveley, Henley Brook and The Vines – or are to have made a substantial contribution to the Ellenbrook Place community.
  • Nominees must agree to have their name, photo, story and suburb where they live to be publicly displayed on a poster at Ellenbrook Central.
