Rate concessions for residential heritage properties

Owners of rateable residential property that is included in the City of Swan Heritage List can apply for a discount on their general rate charge to assist with the care and maintenance of their property.

The City of Swan invites applications for a 50% rate concession, only for residential rateable properties within the City that are on the City's Heritage List. The Heritage List currently comprises places recorded in the City's Local Government Inventory of places of cultural heritage value as having a Management Category of "Exceptional Significance" or "Considerable Significance". To be eligible to receive the Residential Heritage Rate Concession properties must have full value building insurance and a current pest control certificate.  More information about eligibility for the Residential Heritage Rate Concessions can be found in our Terms and Conditions .

Applications for the Residential Heritage Rate Concession must be received by no later than 60 days from the issue date of the current rate notice. Applications received after this period will not be eligible for the concession for the current financial year. Subject to circumstances, the City may defer application of the rebate until the following financial year. 

A completed Annual Application for Heritage Rate Concession form(DOC, 96KB) and the necessary accompanying documentation, including a Statutory Declaration form(PDF, 121KB) should be forwarded to the City of Swan either by email or post at the addresses below. They should be clearly titled 'Application for Residential Heritage Rate Concession'.
