As part of our commitment to being both sustainable and environmentally conscious, the City hosts Recyclable Goods Drop Off Days.

Waste Disposal Centres

Bullsbrook Recycling Centre

Address: 121 Stock West Road, Bullsbrook

Open: Thursday to Sunday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
(Closed Mon - Wed, Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day)

Fees: The Bullsbrook Recycling Centre is free to all City of Swan residents with ID and proof of address.

Red Hill Waste Management Facility

Address: 1094 Toodyay Road, Red Hill

Open: Monday to Friday: 7am - 4pm, Saturday: 8am - 4pm, Sunday: 10am - 4pm
(Closed Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day)

Fees Disposal of household hazardous waste is free to all City of Swan residents with ID and proof of address. All other waste will incur a fee.

We will be hosting recyclable goods drop-off days on the following Saturdays:

Only certain items are able to be dropped off on these days. Please check the list of items accepted at drop-off days.

Make sure you have ID

You will need to bring ID and proof of your address on the day as this service is limited to City of Swan residents only.

Drop off your goods

Goods can be dropped off at Jack Williamson Oval between 8am and 1pm.

Batteries (household) Recycle household batteries by dropping them off in the battery bins located at all local libraries, council offices and selected shopping centres. Visit www.rgang.org.au for a full list of locations. Consider using rechargeable batteries.
Books, bric-a-brac, clothing, furniture If your unwanted items are in good, clean condition, don't throw them out! Visit giv.org.au to find out how to give your donations the best chance at finding new homes. Giv is an initiative of some of WA's largest charities working together to reduce waste and make every donation count.
Computers & televisions E-waste, including computers, televisions, peripherals and accessories can be taken to Bullsbrook Recycling Centre or Red Hill Waste Management Facility. View a full list of what is accepted. E-waste is also accepted at the City's regular Recyclable Goods Drop Off Days.
Cardboard / packaging boxes Cardboard and packing boxes can be brought to the City's regular Drop-off Days, or they can be dropped off at the Red Hill Waste Management Facility.  There will be no charge for residents if cardboard is packed flat and with no foreign matter.
Car parts, bodies & metal items Check the Yellow Pages for a local scrap metal dealer. Car batteries and other batteries can be taken free of charge to Battery World stores. You can also drop these off at Red Hill Waste Management Facility (fees may apply).
Demolition & building waste To find local recycling options for construction and demolition waste visit recycling near you website. You can also take your items to the Red Hill Waste Management Facility.
Fluorescent tubes/globes You can drop them off at the City of Swan Administration Centre, Midland Library, and selected shopping centres. For your nearest drop-off point visit the R-Gang website (households only, no businesses).
Mattresses City of Swan residents are eligible for up to three (3) mattress collections each financial year. For more details and to book a collection, visit the Bulk waste - pre-booked verge & mattress collections page.
Medicines Take out-of-date or unwanted medicines to participating local pharmacists to make your home a safer place. Don’t put them in your general rubbish or flush them down the drain. 
Mobile phones Most mobile phone retailers will take these back, or you can visit www.mobilemuster.com.au or www.arp.net.au for more information.
Plastic bags REDcycle bins are available at the front of most Coles or Woolworths supermarkets to recycle plastic bags and other scrunchable plastics. Consider taking re-useable bags when shopping. 
Polystyrene packaging Polystyrene cannot be recycled in your yellow-top recycling bin. Take your polystyrene to CLAW Environmental in Welshpool to be recycled.
Printer cartridges Many printing supplies stores can refill your cartridges or will take them for recycling. Check the Planet Ark recycling boxes in participating libraries and post offices.
Spectacles & reading glasses Many optometrists collect used spectacles and reuse them. Check with your local Lions Club, they run a recycling reading glasses program.

  • Metals - dismantled trampolines/swings, corrugated iron/tin sheeting, air condition units, hot water systems, car body parts, bikes, BBQ's, bed frames, empty paint cans
  • Wood - Any untreated timber - off cuts (no longer than 1.5m), crates, pallets (this is shredded at the EMRC Hazelmere Facility for use as particle board , poultry bedding, etc). No cabinets or furniture is accepted.
  • Plastic - children's toys, plastic furniture, pots, bins, crates, etc
  • TV/Computers - TV's, black boxes, computers, monitors, key boards, speakers, stereo equipment, printers, scanners, photocopiers, DVD players, Video Players, X-boxes  consoles, laptops, mobile phones, camera equipment, etc
  • White Goods - Fridges, freezers, stoves, microwaves, dish washers, washing machines, bar fridges , toasters, kettles, bar grillers
  • Mattresses -  futons, inner spring and foam single, double, queen, king,
  • Cardboard - any size card board boxes, paper
  • Batteries - any dry cell battery from energizers to nickel cadmium batteries, any wet cell battery from motor cycle to tractor/truck batteries
  • CFLs & Fluorescent Tubes
  • Green Waste

Hazardous waste is any waste that poses a serious risk to the public or the environment, due to its reactivity, flammability, corrosiveness or toxicity. All hazardous waste must be disposed of at an appropriate facility.
