The total resident population in the City of Swan is expected to reach almost 150,000 in 2019, around 240,000 by 2036 and 310,000 by 2051. Almost 75,000 of our residents are employed and the area provides jobs for about 68,000 workers in more than 10,700 businesses.

Our largest industry of employment is Construction which employs 7,740 workers and generates an output of almost $4 billion. 

Swan's gross regional product (GRP) is generated by businesses, organisations and individuals working in the area. In 2017-18, our GRP reached $9.95 billion or about 6% of total GRP in the Greater Perth region and 4% of Western Australia gross product.
