South Guildford

South Guildford is located 13 kilometres east of the Perth CBD and 5 kilometres west of the Midland CBD. Transport to the area is via passenger rail, Great Eastern Highway, the Great Eastern Highway Bypass, Roe Highway and Kalamunda Road making the industrial area highly accessible by road and strategically located less than 5 kilometres from the Perth Airport terminals.

The area is important for existing and future industrial and commercial industries that house many ‘high employing’ businesses. Within the South Guildford statistical area, there are 105 businesses that together employ more than 1,500 workers. The largest industries of employment are Other Services (44%), Wholesale Trade (19%) and Mining (15%). Significantly, WesTrac CAT has been operating in South Guildford for well over 25 years.

Settled in the 1800's, South Guildford and Guildford represent two of the oldest settlements in Western Australia. Although not so well known as a tourist destination today, some 180 years ago South Guildford was the location of the first vineyard in the Swan Valley region. Separated from Guildford by the Helena River and bordered to the west by the Swan River, South Guildford has a large area of river frontage.
