Recycling

We encourage businesses in the City of Swan to consider how they can recycle more effectively, helping to contribute to a healthier environment and potentially saving money too.

Electronic waste (e-waste)

Some common office items that don’t go in your recycling bin can still be recycled. E-waste includes things like old computers, keyboards, mice and more. Contact Total Green Recycling to get started.

Toner cartridges

If you want to drop off your old toner cartridges for recycling, check Planet Ark’s business recycling website.

You can also consider becoming a collection point yourself. Visit the Close the Loop website for more details.

Reduce your impact

Some things you can do to improve your business’ sustainability habits:

  • Buy more recycled products like recycled paper
  • Avoid buying things that are wrapped in soft plastic
  • Take advantage of discounts for more sustainable products and services through Switch Your Thinking (e.g. solar energy, eco-friendly printing, installing LED lights and more)
  • Educate your staff about what items can and can’t go in your recycling bin

Applying for a bigger recycling bin

Businesses in the City can apply for a larger recycling bin with a capacity of 660L. There is a one-off establishment cost. Please call the City on 9267 9267.
