Proposed amendment No.190 to Local Planning Scheme No.17 - To reclassify land on Diana Crescent & Kerwin Way, Lockridge from 'Recreation' to 'Public Purposes - Water Corporation' and a 'Special Use Zone' for Residential Aged Care Facility purposes - various properties in Kerwin Way & Diana Crescent, LOCKRIDGE
Summary/Overview of the proposal:
The Department of Planning Lands and Heritage has submitted a proposed amendment to the City's Local Planning Scheme No.17 to redesignate the above lands. The subject land is currently a local reserve for recreation. It is proposed to be redesignated to a zoning (Special Use Zone) that will facilitate the development of the land for housing and facilities for the aged ('Residential Aged Care Facility' and/or 'Independent Living Complex').
This proposal is consistent with the Council's adopted Altone Local Area Plan that has recognised the community need for aged services.
Provisions of the Special Use Zone would work to control the built form (ie. density, building height, setbacks, plot ratio, open space, interface with adjoining land).
