The LiteracyApps is an online guide for parents created by the National Literacy Trust UK, which recommends the best apps to support the early language and communication skills of children under five. 100 apps are listed, which have been carefully selected using a quality framework. Guidance on choosing apps is also available to parents on the website.
For early years
Busythings is an online resource for the early years that includes over 115 fun learning activities that help children learn important skills in the key learning areas of creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy and knowledge and understanding of the world. This subscription service has been provided through Better Beginnings - a State Library of Western Australia initiative supporting families in sharing a love of reading.

Britannica Junior is a version of the Encyclopaedia Britannica Online Library Edition created especially for readers at primary school.
Starfall is a free public service to teach children to read with phonics. Their systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic awareness practice, is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, special education, homeschool and English language development.
