Rural properties revegetation program

Need some green? If your property is 4,000 square metres (1 acre) or over, and is located in the City of Swan, you are eligible to receive a free allocation of plants.

The City is pleased to announce the launch of the Rural Properties Revegetation Program for 2019. Trillion Trees (formally Men of the Trees) has been engaged by the City to grow approximately 10,000 trees, shrubs and ground covers to compliment the City’s natural environment.

Trillion Trees is a not-for-profit organisation staffed by volunteers committed to growing plants for the betterment of the environment.

To obtain your local native plants, simply complete the online application form.

Due to the limited amount of plants available, and to avoid disappointment, applications must be received by the City no later than Friday May 3, 2019.

Grants: RSPCA event

Cute Pug

RSPCA WA recently applied for a Community Grant from the City of Swan to help them host an annual action day.

The Community Action Day event proved popular with approximately 175 people attending. They performed more than 65 health checks, nail trimmings and implanted microchips. From the dogs checked, 11 were referred for further vet consultations and surgeries through South Metropolitan TAFE at discounted rates.

They exhausted almost all of their dog supplies, food and worming/flea treatments.
