Community engagement

As a City we are committed to engaging with our community to better understand local needs and aspirations, and to encourage community participation in decision making.

Quality engagement is an essential foundation of good governance. We are committed to inclusive, meaningful and relevant engagement with our community, recognising our obligations under the Local Government Act 1995 in regards to participation, consultation and engagement.

Beyond our regulatory obligations, we hold the strong belief that we are more effective when our community has a means for incorporating their feedback, values, interests, needs and desires into the decisions that affect their lives.

We aim to support all stakeholders to feel valued and involved in what is happening in their backyard.

Have your say by participating in our online consultations, or dropping by your local City office during office hours.

Local Management Areas

The City is comprised of 13 Local Areas determined by the environment, land use and access to services, which allows us to plan and focus on unique community needs and aspirations. These Local Areas are then grouped into Management Areas, each with its own Community Hub or City Office, where you can access City services and meet your locally based City team.

Community Hubs or City Offices are located in AltoneBallajuraEllenbrook,BullsbrookMidland, Swan Valley and Gidgegannup.
