Ellenbrook Indoor Leisure Centre

Electorate: Pearce

Cost: $55 million

Project overview

Leisure is one of the key services the City of Swan provides to our residents.

With a growing population comes an increased demand for facilities to serve the community, a fact that residents of Ellenbrook and surrounds know all too well given they currently face significant travel time to get to the closest indoor recreation centre or aquatic facility. As the population of the Ellenbrook area rapidly increases, so does its demand for indoor sports.

The State and Federal Governments have acknowledged this need providing funding commitments to support development of the much anticipated Ellenbrook Indoor Leisure Centre.

The indoor recreation centre will be co-located with the Ellenbrook District Open Space (EDOS), established in 2015, addressing the remaining shortfall of indoor sport space across the district and further addressing the increasing needs of a booming local population.

Building the facility has been identified as a priority for the City, due to the wide-ranging benefits for children, adults and elderly in a catchment area extending to Chittering, Toodyay and Bullsbrook.
