The City of Swan has beaten 148 other organisations in Western Australia, including 44 other local governments, to win the Snapper’s Choice Award in the 2022 Snap Send Solve Solver of the Year Awards.
The City took out the West Australian title in the inaugural awards, which recognise organisations taking action to keep their communities safe and tidy via the Snap Send Solve App.
Snap Send Solve allows for the streamlining of the City’s customer requests, where reports can be made in real-time with a quick photograph on a smartphone which is snapped and sent to the City, relevant authority or retailer for action.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said he was thankful to the community for helping to spot issues and keep the City of Swan cleaner and safer.
“We are huge advocates of Snap Send Solve here at the City – it's an easy way for our community to report issues to us, and it has also allowed us to become much more efficient in actioning those reports,” he said.
“To put it into perspective, Snap Send Solve has allowed us to save the equivalent of $11,000 in staff time with the current number of users, which is a huge cost saving for our ratepayers, and this saving will only increase as more people use the app.”
“It’s fantastic to receive this award and know that this app has been so successful in the City of Swan, and we thank our community for their ongoing contribution.”
City of Swan Deputy Mayor Mel Congerton encouraged the community to continue reporting issues through Snap Send Solve, particularly abandoned shopping trolleys.
“Unfortunately, abandoned trolleys remain an ongoing issue and eyesore for our residents, plus they create safety risks for footpath users, cyclists and motorists, and also clog our waterways,” he said.
“We actively encourage residents to report abandoned trolleys and other issues using the Snap Send Solve App – let’s keep up the momentum.”
