Home water efficiency

Event description

This workshop is designed to empower residents with the knowledge they need to interpret water bills and reduce water use in the home.

During the workshop, you will learn:

  • An explanation on how water consumption is billed and provide details on the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) labelling scheme
  • A breakdown of the average Perth household’s water consumption and tips on how you can reduce water use at home
  • How to measure flow rate of your own fixtures and simple solutions to improve their performance, and
  • A simple methodology for calculating the return on investment for installing water saving fixtures throughout the home.

This workshop is proudly hosted by the City of Swan on behalf of Switch your Thinking. All funds received from this event will go towards a sustainability prize draw where you have the chance to win an induction cooktop. Those who register are automatically entered into the draw.
