A Total Fire Ban has been issued for the entire day of Saturday January 22 and Sunday January 23, 2022. There is a Harvest & Vehicle Movement Ban on Saturday January 22 from 12noon until 7pm and Sunday January 23 from 11am until 6pm.

A new suburb for the City, Bennett Springs encompasses the residential estates of Orchid Park and Bennett Springs.
The suburb of Brabham was created in May 2011.
Long before its name became the title of a 1947 musical, the area was owned by the Brigadoon Pastoral Company.
