The City of Swan is proud to support local businesses through the 2026/27 Business Grants program, providing matched funds of up to $5,000 for projects that help businesses grow, innovate and create lasting benefits for the community.
Local businesses play an important role in creating jobs, supporting our community and helping our local economy grow. If you are looking for a way to improve how your business operates, attract more customers or develop a new tourism experience, this grant program can help you bring your project to life.
We are looking for projects that contribute to one or more of the City’s economic priorities:
Grow and strengthen local business

Supports business growth through projects that improve business operations, develop new skills, encourage innovation or strengthen long-term sustainability
Create vibrant local centres

Encourages vibrant activity centres by delivering initiatives, services or events that attract more people and increase activity in local business areas
Support jobs and economic growth

Uses innovation to drive investment, improve streetscapes, create infrastructure improvements and create local jobs that support sustainable economic growth within the City
Grow tourism within the region

Strengthens the local tourism industry through partnerships, collaboration and initiatives that attract more visitors
Create great visitor experiences

Creates and promotes visitor experiences that encourages people to visit the area, stay longer and spend more with local businesses.
Who can apply?
You can apply if your business:

Operates a business within the City
-
Meets the eligibility requirements outlined in the Grants guidelines

Can show how your project supports one or more of the City’s economic priorities
-
Can match the amount of funding requested with your own financial contribution
-
Is financially able to deliver the project
-
Have no outstanding debts or reporting requirements relating to previous City grants
-
Hold appropriate and current insurances for the proposed project.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from:

Not-for-profit organisations or charitable entities
-
Local, State or Federal Government organisations
-
Employees or Councillors of the City
-
Businesses that have received funding through this Business Grants program in the past
-
Applicants seeking funding for a project that has already received funding from another source.
How to Apply
Applications for the 2026/27 Business Grants program close on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Applications must be submitted online through the SmartyGrants portal. As part of the application, businesses will need to complete the online form and provide supporting documentation, including quotes for project costs and current business insurance certificates. You will need to show that you have met the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Grants Guidelines.
Once applications close, the assessment process will begin and may take up to12 weeks. All applicants will be notified of the outcome once the assessment has been completed.
