Auslan Gateway – Thrive 3 (Advanced Community Auslan)

Event description

Kim Kossenberg presents Auslan Gateway, an advanced community Auslan program comprising nine (9) weeks of learning, with one two-hour session each week. The program is designed to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the conceptual and linguistic aspects of Auslan.

Each weekly session builds on your existing knowledge and extends the learning from previous weeks, enabling you to progressively develop a practical, connected and richer understanding of this complex visual language.

Throughout the program you will explore how Auslan is structured, how meaning is created through signs, movement, space and non-manual features, and how these elements work together to support authentic communication. By combining guided learning, authentic language observation, practical activities and reflection, the program provides a strong foundation for continued Auslan learning and thriving towards meaningful participation within the Deaf community.

This program is suitable for Ages 16+ and is a hands-on workshop/workshop. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
