Open mic night

Event description

Join us on the last Friday every other month for Midland Library's bi-monthly Open Mic Night! Enjoy intimate performances from Midland's best up and coming musicians in this cosy and supportive environment. Performers at any stage in their career are welcome to come and share their music! Whether you're a singer, songwriter, yodeller, piano accordionist, or play the spoons - we want to hear you perform! 

Performer Sign up info:

• Performers will sign up on the night and be drawn to perform at random, so there is a chance that you may not get to perform
• Performance slots will be preferenced to musicians who have not performed at our open mic night previously
• If we have a full cohort of musicians that sign up, we will have 8x 15 minute (including set up) slots available. This is about 2 songs, or 3 songs if your set up is fast
• If we have fewer than 8 musicians sign up, performers will have the option to play for slightly longer. This is an option, not a requirement
• Feel free to perform any unfinished, untested or new material
• Please get in touch if you need more notice or have accesibility requirements to perform
• Please be in touch if you are a performing artist from a non-music medium, and we will discuss whether we can accomodate your performance. 

Audience members:
We welcome anyone would just like to come and enjoy some live music without performing! We request that audience members be positive, supportive and encouraging to our performers: clapping, WOO-ing and loud encouragement is highly encouraged. 

Please book in as spaces are limited.  
This program is suitable for ages 15+ and is an open mic night. Attendees under 15 must be accompanied by a guardian. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
