Thinking Green: The Zero-Waste Italian Kitchen

Event description

Join Chef Valentina for an engaging cooking demonstration inspired by the traditional Italian philosophy of cucina povera - the “waste-nothing” kitchen.

Long before sustainability became a global movement, Italian home cooks were masters at transforming simple, leftover ingredients into nourishing meals.

In this interactive session, Chef Valentina will demonstrate how everyday ingredients and fridge leftovers can be turned into delicious dishes while reducing food waste.

Participants will learn practical tips for using whole vegetables, repurposing leftovers and creating flavourful meals with ingredients that might otherwise be thrown away. The session will include a live cooking demonstration and plenty of inspiration to help you cook more sustainably at home.

Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
