Writing's Got Game: A LitRPG Writing Workshop

LitRPG as a genre has been increasing in popularity over the last 5 years, and is just on the cusp of the mainstream. It's a perfect time to hone your craft by writing your own - but there are a few more "gotchas" here than in most traditional genres. Luckily, Danielle and Michele have done the research for you! Come and find out what LitRPG is, why you should care, and how to get started writing your own.

This workshop will cover an overview of the LitRPG genre and its various sub-genres, things you need to think about when choosing a game system to use in your writing, various techniques to incorporate the game mechanics into your story, and a practise exercise to test out your understanding. Open to all - terminology and jargon will be explained!

This program is suitable for Ages 13+ and is a hands-on workshop. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
