Rates are a simple and effective way of paying for the development and improvement of vital community services, such as roads, footpaths, parks, libraries and leisure centres – just to name a few.
Why your rates may vary this year
This year is a State-led property revaluation year. Once Landgate provides the City with property valuations, we must use these new values to calculate rates. This means individual rates may vary if your property value has changed.
The City of Swan has adopted a 4.95 per cent increase for the residential rating category, and a 5.5 per cent rate increase for all other rating categories, which is equal to about $1.69 extra per week for the average household.
