Cycling is a means of transport for many people. The City's CycleConnect Strategy, adopted by Council in November 2012, supports this low impact form of transport. The strategy guides the development of safe cycle lanes and better connections to and within Midland as well as other parts of the City.
Due to more and more people riding bikes, plenty of bike racks have been installed in our City. Keep an eye out for the bike parking symbol. If, while riding, you come across a location that really needs bike parking, please let us know.
For recreational cyclists, the City of Swan has many cycle routes within its boundaries, including the beautiful Swan Valley Heritage Cycle Trail. This 12km off-road cycle path takes you along West Swan Road between Swan Street, Guildford and Henley Street, Henley Brook.
The Swan Valley is cycle friendly
With a range of cycling routes, the Swan Valley is packed with cycle friendly businesses that are set up to make your visit via bicycle easy and enjoyable. Obtain a full list of participating businesses, which can be identified by a cycle friendly sticker, from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre.
