Community grants and funding

Working with the community to support meaningful projects

Updates to City of Swan Community Grants and Funding

The City of Swan works closely with community groups and organisations to support local projects. Each year, many organisations apply for funding to deliver activities and services for the community.

This financial year, demand for community grants has been higher than usual. To manage applications fairly and focus support where it is most needed, the City has introduced some interim changes to how funding requests are accepted.

Expression of interest (EOI) process now in place

An interim expression of interest (EOI) process has been introduced and will operate from now until July 2026.

Organisations are asked to submit an EOI before being invited to complete a full grant application.

The EOI application form will be available soon to download from the City of Swan grants website, along with guidance documents to help organisations understand the process and complete the form.

Important update: applications for $2,000 or under

At this time, applications requesting $2,000 or under are not being accepted across all streams of the City of Swan Community Grants and Funding Program.

If you have already applied or started an application

If your organisation has already submitted a grant application using the existing forms or process, or if you have started an application in SmartyGrants that is substantially complete, you do not need to take any further action at this stage.

The City of Swan Grants team will be in contact with you as soon as possible to discuss next steps. Due to the high volume of applications received, this may take a few days, and we apologise for the delay.

Have questions about what’s changing?

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page for clear information about the interim EOI process, eligibility, and what this means for existing applications.
