We the undersigned all being electors of the City of Swan, request Council to halt works on the overflow car bays at Woodbridge Riverside Gardens. The recent proposal for additional parking at the Woodbridge Riverside Park emanating from a 507-signature petition is flawed. The proposal is for 12 parking bays situated within the park. This brings vehicles to/within the immediate vicinity of children and others, which is highly dangerous and destroys the park's security. The plan also is contrary to the original concept and use of the park, arrived at through hours of meaningful discussion with the City's representative, disability groups, Woodbridge Ratepayer Association Inc and residents. We seek CoS to follow the original design principles and proposal prepared in conjunction with the Autism Association and interested key stakeholders, to create a plan to improve parking options.
