The future of your community is on the ballot – make it count at the City of Swan’s local government election on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
While voting in local government elections is not compulsory in Western Australia, your vote has a real impact.
Council decisions influence everything from parks and libraries to roads and planning, and this is your chance to have a direct say in who will represent your views on the services and spaces you use daily.
Make sure you’re enrolled with the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) by 5pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 to receive a voting package in the mail. If you’re already enrolled, double-check that your details are up to date.
The following vacancies will be contested at the 2025 Election:
- Altone Ward – three vacancies (1 x two-year vacancy, 2 x four-year vacancies)
- Pearce Ward – two four-year vacancies
- Midland/Guildford Ward – one four-year vacancy
- Swan Valley/Gidgegannup Ward – one four-year vacancy
- Whiteman Ward – one four-year vacancy.
The City of Swan Council is represented by the Mayor and 14 Council Members, each serving four-year terms. Council elections are held every two years, with half of the seats up for renewal.
