The Local History Collection contains:

Books and reports

Published and non-published material and covering a wide range of subjects such as school, church and sporting histories, biographies, town planning, traffic, heritage and environmental studies and railway history.

Photographs

Of people, places and events are arranged in numerical order.

Newspapers

Copies of current newspapers published in the City of Swan are kept and indexed for items of local interest. The "Swan Express" newspaper, published from 1900 to 1978, is available on microfiche.

Ephemera

Pamphlets, programs, leaflets and cuttings are arranged alphabetically by subject.

Oral history

There are recorded memoirs of long-term City of Swan residents, as well as recordings of the Westrail Workshops History Project and the Guildford Primary School history.

Maps

Maps, real estate agent's plans and street directories are available.
