Please note that the City holds a Casual Hirers Liability Insurance Policy to protect hirers of the City. To be eligible to claim under the policy, hirers must meet the following definition:
- A casual hirer is any person or group of persons, excluding sporting bodies, clubs, associations, corporations or incorporated bodies, who hires a council facility for non-commercial or non-profit purposes less frequently than once per calendar month or 12 times per calendar year.
If a claim arises, the City will lodge the claim on behalf of a casual hirer with the Local Government Mutual Indemnity Scheme. The policy $500 excess, which the hirer is responsible for paying.
