In accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act (1995), notice is hereby given to the ratepayers of the intention of the City of Swan to levy the following differential rates for each rating category for the 2024/25 financial year.

The Statement of Objects and Reasons for the above differential rates was adopted for advertising at the Special Meeting of Council on Monday, April 29, 2024.

All submissions in writing with reference to the proposed differential rates should be emailed to rates@swan.wa.gov.au by 5pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Once Council has considered the submissions, the Differential Rates and the 2024/25 Budget (with or without modification) will be adopted.

Due to the unusually dry autumn and ongoing significant fires, the FES Commissioner has pursuant to section 17(6) of the Bush Fires Act 1954, extended the Prohibited Burning Period until 5 May 2024 in metropolitan Local Government areas, including the City of Swan. 

This mean all burning including garden refuse remains prohibited and no permits to burn will be issued.

Pursuant to section 6.20 of the Local Government Act 1995, the City of Swan hereby gives one month's public notice that it proposes to borrow money on the following terms: seven million, seven hundred and fifty-seven thousand, eight hundred and forty-six dollars only for a period of 10 years repayable by forty consecutive quarterly instalments of principal and interest.

Purpose: Construction of an access road into Shady Hills Estate in Bullsbrook, as resolved at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Serpentine Drive, between West Parade and Lockhart Crescent

Temporarily closed on February 19, 2024, with completion expected by April 30, 2024.

This matter was considered and under delegated authority on February 15, 2024 for a period of two months.

Henley Street, Henley Brook

Henley Street, between Starflower Road and Andrea Drive, is to be temporarily closed on 10 January 2024 with completion expected by 4 July 2024.

This matter was considered and closed under delegated authority on 11/12/2023 for a period of 6 months.

Clause 3.12 of the City of Swan Parking Local Law 2023

The City of Swan proposes to amend clause 3.12 of the existing Parking Local Law 2023 in accordance with the undertaking to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation in relation to the City of Swan Parking Local Law 2023.

The purpose of this amendment local law is to be consistent with the undertakings provided to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation and for further correction and clarification. The effect of this local law is intended to clarify the periods that parking facilities may be set aside for events and for sufficient notice to be provided.
