The City of Swan’s Waste team is looking for local businesses, artists, community groups and residents with experience in the textile industry to join us at community events and help teach people sustainable textile skills such as:
- Making and using botanical and vegetable dyes
- Creating sustainable jewellery
- Making artwork with textiles
- Embroidery and sewing
- Shoe dyeing and repair.
Through teaching these skills we hope to encourage people to think more sustainably about fashion and keeping items in the circular economy, rather than sending them to landfill.
We have a robust calendar of community events and are looking for someone who can devote time to attending with us and teaching the community these skills.
