Beginner Sewing Series: Upcycle your wardrobe.

Event description

Learn how to use basic sewing skills and your imagination to recreate a humble Tea towel into a decorative apron, or a small drawstring bag in the first workshop. Kathryn, our workshop facilitator, is a self-taught costume designer and enjoys the challenge of recreating new outfits from preloved clothing. She is a passionate advocate for “Slow Fashion” and keeping clothing out of landfill.
  • Session 1 | April 17 - Tea towel to apron 
  • Session 2 | April 24 - M/L Long sleeve shirt and Dress reimagined. 
  • Session 3 | May 1 - M/L Long sleeve shirt and Dress reimagined.

Please bring along a large size shirt and a skirt or dress for workshops 2 and 3. Basic materials supplied. 

Please book in as spaces are limited.  
This program is suitable for adults aged 18+ and is a hands-on workshop. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
