Event description
The world is full of interesting sounds. The drone of a metal pole, the satisfying crunch of a dry leaf, a kettle boiling. In this program we'll be recording the sounds around us and manipulating them using audio software to create our own musical compositions. This process of "sampling" the world around us can be done as an activity of cataloguing and arranging sounds to make pieces on their own, or it can be done to enhance music you've already written or recorded.
So whether you've never played an instrument before, of if you're an experienced musician and songwriter, this program will have something for you.
Some devices are supplied, but if you have a device with your prefered music software (eg a laptop or tablet) you're welcome to bring it along. If you have a phone with a voice recorder app/functionality, please bring it.
Please book in as spaces are limited.
This program is suitable for ages 15+ and is a hands-on workshop. Please book one ticket for each person attending. Photography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
