Club resources

State Sporting Associations (SSA) offer sport-specific guidance and support to clubs. Below are links to each SSA where you can find resources, training and education opportunities, and information on upcoming events provided by these associations. Most SSAs will directly inform clubs about local training opportunities or events. For additional information, please contact your State sporting association.

Do you have a group of friends or community members interested in starting a club in the City?

There are a few things to consider:

  1. Identify a need for the club
  2. Speak to a Club Development Officer from the City
  3. Speak to State sporting body.

From here, the Club Development Officer will help you with everything required to establish a new club.

See Starting a new club(open in new window) for a step-by-step guide on what needs to be done from a governance standpoint.

Starting a club

Game Plan is a no-cost online platform designed to empower sporting clubs of varying sizes by offering insights into their administrative capabilities across essential areas. It then facilitates club advancement through a comprehensive set of tools. Clubs can self-assess and analyse their operational landscape, pinpointing distinctive strengths and areas ripe for enhancement.

Recognising volunteers as the backbone of every club, Game Plan simplifies the process for club leaders to evaluate and dissect holistic operational data, enabling them to make informed decisions promptly while crafting well-defined strategies for the club's future.

To organise for your club to enrol in the platform, please speak to the City’s Club Development team.

We understand the time challenges volunteers face with managing their personal lives as well as volunteering for the local club. There are many resources available to support and educate volunteers around management of their clubs.

Below is a range of useful videos for volunteers that struggle to find the time to attend one of the City’s many workshops.
